Offaly Local Community Development Committee is now inviting applications for funding under the Community Enhancement Programme 2020.
The Community Enhancement Programme (CEP) offers funding to not-for-profit community groups and communities in County Offaly to enhance facilities for a disadvantaged area/group, or a group/facility providing services to the disadvantaged as identified in the Offaly Local Economic and Community Plan.
The Department of Rural and Community Development will provide €59,756 of grant funding which will be administered through Offaly LCDC and the Community and Culture section of Offaly County Council.
Strand 1 – Small Scale Capital Projects: Approximately €14,756 will be available to fund small capital projects with a minimum grant of €500 and a maximum grant of €1,000.
Strand 2 – Medium Scale Capital Projects: Approximately €15,000 will be available to fund medium scale capital projects with a minimum grant of €1,001 and a maximum grant of €3,000.
Strand 3 – Large Scale Capital Projects: Approximately €30,000 will be available to fund large scale capital projects to a maximum of €10,000.
The following provides a non-exhaustive list of capital projects that could receive funding under the programme:
- Development/renovation of community centres
- Once off maintenance of premises. This does not include regular routine maintenance
- Community amenities
- Development of youth clubs or facilities
- Development of sports/recreation facilities
- Improvements to town parks and common areas and spaces
- CCTV equipment
- Public realm improvements
- Streetscaping
- Development of play/recreation spaces
- Energy efficiency type projects
- Purchase of equipment
- Adaptations or equipment needed as a result of COVID-19
NB: Procurement must be submitted with the application form: (If your total project cost is less than €5,000 and is not related to building/ landscaping/ construction works, then please include estimates/quotes from a minimum of three different independent suppliers with your application).
